The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) is planning to introduce an independent layer of external monitoring for its smart ticketing system, even as it rolled out around 11,000 Electronic Ticketing Machines (ETMs) across its bus network last month.

The BMTC will appoint a Project Monitoring Consultant to oversee the system’s implementation, operations, and compliance, according to officials.
