The Health Department has cautioned people to take adequate precautions as intense summer heat is being reported across Puducherry. In a statement, Director of Health Department S. Sevvel said the territory was witnessing high temperature for the last few days. There was a need to educate public on the measures to be adopted to prevent spread of seasonal diseases this summer. The high temperatures could lead to people getting skin, eye disorders and digestive diseases. Also, there is probability of spread of influenza, chickenpox, measles and vector-borne diseases, he said.
