Hundreds of devotees from across the State thronged the Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple on Monday to witness the sacred ‘Nijaroopa Darshanam’ of the presiding deity as part of the annual ‘Chandanotsavam’.

Following the ‘Suprabhatha Seva’, the sandalwood paste covering the deity was removed, a ritual performed only once a year on this occasion. Hereditary trustee and Governor of Goa, P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, along with his family, offered silk clothes to the deity at around 2.45 a.m. and had the first ‘darshan’. Representing the State Government, Home Minister V. Anitha presented ‘pattu vasthrams’ to the deity.
