Swachha Andhra–Swarna Andhra drive to focus on water conservation

Visakhapatnam District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore has directed officials across departments to ensure the effective conduct of the Swachha Andhra–Swarna Andhra programme on Saturday, themed “Jalam… Jeevam” (Water is Life). Emphasising water conservation, efficient utilisation, reuse of treated water and public participation, he called for strict implementation of the action plan. In orders issued on Friday, the Collector stressed restoration of rainwater harvesting systems, cleaning of tanks and canals, expansion of greywater management, and water audits in public institutions. Progress is to be documented with photographs, videos and data, and uploaded on the SASA (Swachha Andhra–Swarna Andhra) application.
