An idli-themed voter awareness exhibition was organised at Marina Beach in Chennai on Friday to promote 100% polling in the district ahead of polling for the Assembly election on April 23. The exhibition featured idlis shaped like electronic voting machines, an ink-marked finger used for voting, and other symbols emphasising full voter participation. According to a press release, the initiative is part of a series of awareness activities being conducted across 16 Assembly constituencies in Chennai district. These efforts include cultural programmes, folk performances, music events, gaana, DJ shows, flash mobs, advertisements at bus stops, quiz programmes, and awareness buses with model polling booths. and publicity through buses and autorickshaws. The release added that election messages are also being sent to voters through mobile phones, and awareness advertisements have been displayed at the Chepauk stadium during IPL matches.
