The Telangana High Court on Thursday directed the State government to implement its order by June 10 over extending old pension scheme to some persons appointed through direct recruitment pursuant to a notification issued in 2004 by the district judiciary of Mahbubnagar. A bench of Justices P. Sam Koshy and Nandikonda Narsing Rao cautioned that failure to implement the order would compel the Principal Secretary of Finance and the Legal Secretary to appear before the bench and face the contempt charges. The bench was hearing a contempt of case filed by the court employees stating that despite a specific order by the HC to extend the benefit of applicable pension rules as per their choice.
