Hundreds of workers, employees, and women representatives from various organisations, including anganwadi workers and helpers, ASHAs, Mid-Day Meal workers, rural sanitation employees, municipal employees’ union and the Sarv Karmchari Sangh, staged demonstrated across Haryana in response to a call for protest by Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) against the police action on Manesar workers and seeking minimum wages of ₹23,196, among other things.

Addressing the gathering outside mini-secretariat in Gurugram, CITU, Haryana, vice-president Satbir Singh said  the government and the administration must take  steps to improve the  condition of the workers. He said  their stance had been one of suppressing the workers. He added  that the demand to declare a minimum wage of ₹23,196 was not solely a demand of CITU; rather, a consensus  was reached during a meeting held on December 29, 2025, by the committee constituted for this very purpose. “Whether in Gurgaon, Panipat, Faridabad, Bahadurgarh, or other districts, statements are emerging from the industrial owners’ associations asserting that they are unable to implement these wages. This constitutes an extremely regressive stance; it is precisely because of this attitude that workers are taking to the streets in spontaneous strikes,” said Mr. Singh.
