Dropout rates in schools should be brought down to zero, and no school-age child should remain out of school, says HRD Minister Nara Lokesh. | Photo Credit: File Photo Minister for Human Resource Development Nara Lokesh on Thursday instructed the officials to assign basic infrastructure works in government schools to School Management Committees (SMCs) and ensure their speedy completion. Addressing a review meeting with senior officials from the School Education and Intermediate Education departments, Mr. Lokesh said steps should be taken to ensure that all government schools in the State have at least 3-star level infrastructure. “There are 60 schools across the State with a strength of more than 1,000 students,” he said, instructing the officials to focus on providing 5-star facilities in those schools.
