Farmers seek uniform paddy procurement norms, blame Supplyco

Farmers under the banner of the Desiya Karshaka Samajam have urged the Civil Supplies Corporation (Supplyco) to procure the entire paddy yield produced in the State.

According to farmers, Supplyco has been refusing to procure paddy beyond 2,500 kg per acre, even though yields in several fields have gone up to 3,000 kg per acre. Farmers said the restriction was causing hardships to them.
