The joint action council of 10 trade unions has decided to support candidates of the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance in Coimbatore district. The union leaders will organise campaigns in all the major industrial and labour areas from Friday to Tuesday. They will organise street meetings and campaign with owners of industrial units and workers. “We will start on Friday with a meeting at Ganapathi,” said AITUC leader Thangavel.
