The Federation of State Farmers’ Associations has hit out at Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre for his proposal to sterilise select wildlife species to counter the human-wildlife conflict.

At a press conference in Mysuru on Thursday, Federation President Hallikerehundi Bhagyaraj dismissed the Forest Minister’s suggestion as “unscientific” before accusing the Government of misleading the public by giving “irresponsible and negligent” statements after its failure to manage the human-wildlife conflict.
