The Communist Party of India (Marxist), Puducherry unit, has flayed the Central government for its move to carry out delimitation exercise in the country. In a statement, party Puducherry secretary S. Ramachandran said the Central government was trying to push delimitation in the guise of implementing 33 per cent reservation for women in Lok Sabha and State Assemblies. Around 77 per cent of increase in the seats will be in the Northern part of the country. The number of seats in Hindi-speaking States would go up from 207 to 543 seats, the statement said.
