MLC Ivan D’Souza speaking in a press conference at his office, in Mangaluru on April 16, 2026. | Photo Credit: H S MANJUNATH Concreting a patch of road from Marakada to Maravoor bridge on the airport road is among 25 projects to be taken up under Mahatma Gandhi Nagar Vikas Yojana 2.0 (MGNVY 2.0) in Mangaluru at a cost of ₹165 crore, according to MLC Ivan D’Souza. Addressing press persons in Mangaluru on April 16, he said that though the airport road was upgraded to a four-lane concrete road from KPT Junction to Marakada long ago, work on a small stretch between Marakada and Maravoor bridge is pending. This project will be taken up at a cost of ₹9 crore. In addition to building the concrete road, the project comprises constructing a duct for laying utility lines, and building storm water drains with covering slabs.
