The crocodile captured by forest officials from a fish pond at Vellamperambur near Thiruvaiyaru on Tuesday. | Photo Credit: by Special Arrangement A small crocodile that strayed into a fish pond near Thiruvaiyaru was captured and released into Coleroon river on Tuesday. According to sources, the presence of the reptile was noticed by Sasikumar of Vellamperambur near Thiruvaiyaru at the fish pond maintained by him two days ago. Subsequently, the Forest Department was alerted. On Tuesday, forest officials captured the 110-cm-long female crocodile and released it in the nearby Coleroon river.
