On the night of April 7, at least three earthmovers entered the two-acre campus of the Old Zilla Parishad High School (Boys), located along NH-65 (Hyderabad-Mumbai) in Patancheru. The heavy machinery quickly brought down the compound wall and proceeded to demolish each room, while trucks simultaneously cleared the debris. By the next morning, the site had been reduced to a flattened stretch of land. The school last functioned on the premises in April 2013, after which all students were shifted to a nearby primary school. Authorities had earlier declared the building dilapidated and unsafe for use.
