Police said Rampakathur, 42, a native of Nepal, was residing in a rented house on Yesunathar Street, Kalaivanar Nagar, Padi, and working as a plumbing assistant. As he had delayed payment of ₹1,000 in rent for the previous month, the house owner, Syed Ahmed, had been asking him to clear the due.
