A girl student studying in Class V was electrocuted in a lower primary school in Kurkunda village of Sindhanur taluk, Raichur district, on Friday. The victim was identified as 11-year-old Tanushree. Sources in the police said that she was electrocuted when she tried to switch on a water filter around 12.30 p.m. She was immediately taken to a local doctor. Considering the seriousness, she was referred from there to the Taluk Hospital. She died on the government hospital premises in Sindhanur while being shifted, the sources added. Turvihal Police rushed to the spot to carry out an inspection. A unnatural death case has been registered at the Turvihal Police Station.
