India’s spectacular victory in the ICC Women’s World Cup in November last year has given a fillip to women’s cricket and infused confidence in budding cricketers across the country to excel in the game, said Khammam MP R. Raghuram Reddy.

He was speaking after inaugurating the 5th Indira Gandhi National Senior Women T20 Cricket Tournament at SR&BGNR Government College grounds in Khammam on Friday.

Mr Reddy interacted with players from various States and distributed nutrient-rich snack kits to them at the inaugural event.

Addressing the gathering, he said the Congress government under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is striving to promote sports and games by encouraging budding players to showcase their talents.
