Kingpin in the Sub-Inspector recruitment examination scam R.D. Patil has been shifted to Mysuru Central Prison from Kalaburagi Central Prison, according to sources. The decision to shift him was taken as he was repeatedly violating prison discipline and disrupting jail administration, the sources in the Prisons Department said. Last month, videos showing gambling and consumption of alcohol inside Kalaburagi Central Prison went viral on social media and R.D. Patil is suspected to be the mastermind behind them. He is also accused of making bribery allegations against the Superintendent of Prisons and leaking videos outside jail through a pen drive, the sources added. Following the controversy, Director-General of Police (Prisons and Correctional Services) Alok Kumar visited Kalaburagi Central Prison earlier this month, carried out inspection and ordered an inquiry into it. Considering the persistent disruption caused by R.D. Patil to prison discipline and administration, the Prisons Department decided to shift him to Mysuru Central Prison, the sources said.
