The DMK has appealed to the authorities to postpone the written competition examination for recruitment to the post of police constable scheduled for February 8 (Sunday) as the date coincided with the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). A DMK delegation led by Leader of Opposition and party convenor R. Siva met Sathiya Sundaram, Deputy Inspector General of Police at the police headquarters and handed over a memorandum seeking a change of date for the police recruitment test. The memorandum pointed out that candidates who have applied for both the constable recruitment test and the CTET would be able to appear for only one examination. As it is difficult to postpone the CTET, the Puducherry government could change the date of the police constable exam, the memorandum said. The DMK delegation comprised R. Senthilkumar and L. Sambath, MLAs, and others.
