The Hindu In School Quiz – 2026 organised by The Hindu, in association with the KIIT Deemed to be University on Thursday, at Alluri Vignana Kendram, received an overwhelming response. Around 580 students of Class 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th from 80 different schools participated. Over 260 teams, each consisting of two participants, took part in the preliminary quiz, which had 20 questions. From these, six teams advance to the main quiz, which was held in four rounds. Quiz Master Gautam Bose’s lively and interactive hosting received an enthusiastic response from both participants and the audience. Questions that remained unanswered by the competing teams were posed to the spectators. Those who answered correctly were rewarded on the spot, adding to the excitement of the event. Teachers, staff members and parents who attended the programme were impressed by the remarkable talent displayed by the students. Children confidently answered several complex questions with ease, clearly reflecting their knowledge. The quiz concluded on a high note, with the participants receiving a huge round of applause for their outstanding performance Rahul Mishra and Rehan Khan from Navy Children School – Nausenabagh secured first place and thanked The Hindu and KIIT for holding the event. “It was a great experience to participate in the quiz. We answered a wide variety of questions. The quiz master was awesome. Many more quiz programmes should be held in the future,” they said. Vishnu Sunil and Shaurya Singh from Navy Children’s School bagged the second prize and Mr. K. Rohan and M. Lakshit from Visakha Valley School took third prize. Consolation prizes were won by SSP Aarush Varma and SSP Sourish Varma from Alwardas Public School; SM Karthik Reddy and V. Ranveer from SFS School; and K. Sai Giridhar and K. Jatin from Srishto World School. Dr. Achyut Samanta, founder of KIIT, KISS and KIMS, who is also for transforming the lives of thousands of tribal and underprivileged students, interacted with the participants through a video conference. His work is globally recognised for creating a powerful model of social impact, empowerment, and inclusive growth. Director, Admission Cell, KIIT-DU, Bhubaneswar, Prashanta Kumar Mohapatra, Professor & Director, Dr Suman Bhattacharya also addressed the students.
