Ramanathapuram Collector Simranjeet Singh Kahlon on Sunday flagged off a students awareness rally here to mark National Voters’ Day.

Additionally, an awareness vehicle was launched to travel to places where the general public gathered in large numbers to create awareness.

The Collector said the Election Commission had issued orders to create awareness among the general public regarding the use of EVMs and VVPATs (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) through EVM Mobile Demonstration vans starting from National Voters’ Day, with the participation of the public and students.

Following this, at Muhammad Sathak Higher Secondary School, awareness competitions were held through rangoli competitions regarding National Voters’ Day under the ‘Mahalir Thittam’ (Women’s Development Project), and appreciation certificates were awarded to the winners.

Advising voters on the measures they have to take to ensure their names on voters’ list, he said, “Please ensure your names have been included in the draft electoral roll released in December 2025. Those whose names were missing, and those who have completed 18 years of age as of January 1, 2026, are requested to fill out Form-6. These forms can be submitted online, to the Booth Level Officer (BLO), or to the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer in your respective constituency.”

Furthermore, for those whose names were omitted among those who submitted Special Intensive Revision forms, the Election Commission of India has extended the deadline for adding names until January 31, 2026. Therefore, Form-6 and Form-6A are being provided through special camps at the respective polling stations. Completed applications can be submitted at these special camps or to the Booth Level Officer, he noted.

“Hence, voters must ensure their names are in the electoral roll, and missing voters should use the special camps to include their names,” Mr. Simranjeet Singh Kahlon pointed out.
