Minister for Sports V. Abdurahiman will be the chief guest at the government’s official Republic Day celebrations here on Monday (January 26, 2026) morning. He will hoist the national flag at Malabar Special Police (MSP) Parade Grounds at 9 a.m.

He will reach the grounds after paying floral tributes at the war memorial at the Civil Station. District Collector V.R. Vinod and District Police Chief R. Viswanath will welcome the Minister.

Mr. Abdurahiman will accept the salute during a parade and will deliver the Republic Day message. Personnel of the Malabar Special Police, Armed Reserve Police, Excise, women’s police wing, Forest department, Fire and Rescue Services, National Cadet Corps, Student Police Cadets, Scouts and Guides, and Junior Red Cross will take part in the parade. There will be 37 platoons.

MSP Assistant Commandant K. Rajesh will lead the parade. Armed Police Inspector Pradeep K. Manoor will be second in command.

In Palakkad

In Palakkad, Minister for Power K. Krishnankutty will be the chief guest. He will hoist the flag at 9 a.m. at the Fort Grounds and accept the salute during the Republic Day parade. District Police Chief Ajit Kumar and District Collector M.S. Madhavikutty will welcome the Minister.

Mr. Krishnankutty will give away awards to the best platoons. This will be followed by various cultural programmes by selected students from schools and colleges.
