In view of the Broadway bus terminus to be taken up for renovation, the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) would be shifting its operations to Royapuram and Island grounds. The shifting of the buses from the two bus termini would be operational from January 24. In a press release, the MTC said the Island Ground bus terminus would operate buses proceeding through Kamarajar Salai bearing bus routes 6, 13, 60E, 102, 109, 102C, 102K, 102P, 102S, 102X, 109A, 109X, 21G, 21L and 21E. These buses would turn left at the Parrys Corner signal and then proceed to destinations via Royapuram temporary bus stand. Buses bearing route numbers 1, 4, 44, 33C, 33L, 38A, 38G, 38H, 44C, 44CT, 4M, 56D, 56J, 56K, 56P, 57D, 57F, 57H, 57J, 57M and 8B, will be operated from the Island Grounds temporary bus stand via Beach Station Road and will stop on North Fort Road before proceeding via Muthusamy Bridge. Bus services operated from Island Grounds via Mannady Road include routes 33B, 56C and 56F and will stop on Esplanade Road near Fort station. Services operating via EVR Salai and Perambur Road include routes 15, 20, 15F, 15G, 17D, 20A, 20D, 50ET, 50M, 71D, 71E, 71H, 71V, 120 and 150. These buses would stop near TNPSC Road and Evening Bazaar Road before resuming their routes. Similarly buses operated via Anna Salai, including routes 11, 21, 26, 52, 54, 60, 10E, 11G, 11M, 155A, 17E, 17K, 18A, 18B, 18D, 18E, 18K, 18P, 18R, 18X, 21C, 26B, 26G, 26K, 26M, 26R, 51D, 51J, 52B, 52G, 52K, 54G, 54L, 60A, 60D, 60G, 60H, 88C and 88K, and services operating via EVR Salai, including routes 50, 101CT, 101X, 53E and 53P, will pass through North Fort Road and stop near the Harbour Assembly constituency office before proceeding to Royapuram.
