The District and Sessions Court in Karur on Tuesday awarded life sentence to nine accused on the charges of murdering seven persons by hurling petrol bombs at their vehicle while they were returning to Madurai after attending the Thevar Guru puja in 2012. The attack was carried out in the Avaniyapuram police station limits in Madurai, when a group of persons were on their way back from attending the Thevar Guru puja in Ramanathapuram district on the night of October 30, 2012.
