20 passengers injured in pile-up accident along Salem NH in Uthukuli limits

Four vehicles were involved in a pile-up accident resulting in injuries to 20 passengers at Pallagoundampalayam along the Salem National Highway (NH) in Uthukuli limits on Sunday.

The driver of a government bus proceeding to Erode from Tiruppur had reportedly applied sudden brakes to avoid hitting a vehicle in the front that had decelerated and stopped suddenly when three other vehicles coming from behind hit on one another. The government bus capsized in the impact.

Vehicular traffic movement was disrupted along the road. The Uthukuli police cleared the road using a crane.

The jurisdictional police have registered a case and are investigating.
