15 devotees injured after van hit culvert in Krishna district

Fifteen devotees, who were returning from the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Kalyanam event at Antarvedi, suffered injuries when the van in which they were travelling hit a culvert near Penduru village, in Bantumilli mandal, in the early hours on Friday (January 30, 2026).

The victims, all natives of Sorlagondi village, Nagayalanka mandal in Krishna district, were returning after attending the kalyanam and teertham, in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district.

The injured were admitted in Machilipatnam hospital, and the condition of three victims is stated to be critical. The accident occurred when the driver lost control and hit the culvert, the locals said.

Police registered a case and have taken up the investigation.
