Rao Proposals have been sent to the government for establishing 13 special courts to expedite the trial of narcotics-related cases in Andhra Pradesh, Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta said on Saturday. Inaugurating the State headquarters of the Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement (EAGLE) at Mangalagiri, the DGP said nearly 7,000 drug-related cases were pending in courts across the State. To strengthen enforcement, 10,000 drug testing kits would be supplied to the police in the first phase, followed by another 10,000 in the second phase to help identify drug use and curb consumption.
