Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said development works worth ₹523 crore have been launched in Gundlupet, including a ₹475 crore-project to fill up 110 tanks with water in the taluk.

As per the Nanjundappa Committee’s report, Gundlupet has been identified as a most backward taluk, and special priority has been given to it. “This was possible due to the efforts of Ganesh Prasad, local MLA,” he added.
