In a big relief for employees of the State-run road transport corporations (RTCs), the Karnataka government has sanctioned ₹450 crore as the initial installment to settle long-standing salary arrears.

The decision follows pressure from workers’ unions. The release marks the first step in addressing the backlog of revised wages owed to staff across the four RTCs.
