Prachi was brought to the zoo from Ramat Gan, Israel, in 2018 and has given birth to six foals during her stay. According to zoo authorities, Prachi was pregnant and was suffering from intestinal obstruction. She delivered a female foal, but died two days after giving birth due to complications caused by enteroliths (intestinal stones). Despite continuous efforts by zoo veterinarians, the animal did not respond to treatment and succumbed at around 11 a.m. The zoo management has mourned the loss of the animal. Meanwhile, Prachi’s foal is being hand-reared by zoo keepers, officials said.
