Yogi Vemana University Vice-Chancellor Bellamkonda Rajasekhar addressing a media conference in Kadapa on Tuesday. | Photo Credit: BY ARRANGEMENT As many as 11,664 candidates of Yogi Vemana University (YVU) will receive degrees in absentia at the convocation for four consecutive academic years, which will be conducted on March 13 (Friday). Addressing a media conference here on Tuesday, Vice-Chancellor Bellamkonda Rajasekhar stated that the Governor and Chancellor S. Abdul Nazeer would participate in the 11th (2020-21), 12th (2021-22), 13th (2022-23) and 14th (2023-24) convocation, which will be conducted simultaneously, and present the degrees to the candidates. A total of 1,194 postgraduate, 11,664 undergraduate, and 70 Ph.D. scholars will receive their respective degrees at the convocation. Mr. Rajasekhar said that the 21-year-old YVU posed a tough competition to the age-old universities in the State in terms of high-end research and global recognition, pointing to the A grade accorded by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and the impressive rating given by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). On the social facet, the varsity’s NSS unit had adopted 131 villages in Kadapa district to ensure their overall development. Registrar in-charge Padma, principal T. Srinivas, controller of examinations K.S.V. Krishna Rao and C.P. Brown Library director Parvathi also took part.
