Former Minister Gudivada Amarnath said that YSR Congress Party leaders from the erstwhile Visakhapatnam district would participate in the Chalo Guntur programme on February 7 to visit the family of former Minister Ambati Rambabu and express their solidarity. Clarifying the purpose of the visit, Mr. Amarnath said it was not a political event and would not involve any protests or meetings en route. “Ambati Rambabu is one of our family members and we are only going to meet his family and stand by them during this difficult time,” he said. He added that such a visit did not require police permission, to the best of his knowledge. The YSRCP Anakapalli district president accused NDA leaders of misrepresenting the SIT report and said it had clearly stated that there was no animal fat in the ghee, contrary to the claims being made by NDA leaders. Questioning the decision to appoint a one-man committee despite the SIT findings, he asked whether committees would continue to be constituted until a report supported the NDA’s allegations. Mr. Amarnath further alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had committed a grave sin by making false accusations regarding the Tirumala laddu prasadam.
