The YSR Congress Party has strongly condemned what it termed the vindictive attitude of the coalition government, alleging that it is foisting multiple cases against political adversaries to keep them behind bars for as long as possible. Speaking to the media here on Monday, party spokesperson Putaa Siva Sankar said the coalition government was reviving old cases and filing false cases at different places against opposition leaders as part of a political vendetta. He said that despite Central laboratories clearly stating that there was no animal fat in the ghee used for Tirupati laddu, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu was attempting to drag religious sentiments into politics. He alleged that cases were being filed against Mr. Ambati Rambabu, Mr. Jogi Ramesh and others as they had exposed the alleged wrongdoings of the coalition government. Referring to Mr. Ambati Rambabu, he said an old case related to protests against medical colleges had been reopened purely out of vindictiveness and that more than 36 cases had been filed against him. He alleged that after Mr. Chandrababu Naidu’s claims on the Tirupati laddu were exposed, the TDP unleashed attacks on YSRCP leaders. The coalition government, he said, was filing cases against victims and sending them to jail, which had become a pattern. The perpetrators of violence were being let off, while the victims were being jailed and shifted from one place to another, he alleged, adding that this amounted to a gross violation of human rights and fundamental rights.
