A 19-year-old motorist allegedly ran over a head constable who tried to stop him during a vehicle check near the Koyambedu market area late night on Tuesday, leaving the officer injured. The police said Head Constable Dhanasekara Pandian of the Koyambedu Police Station was conducting a vehicle check on ‘A’ Road in the market area with other personnel when he signalled a motorcyclist to stop. The rider allegedly ignored the signal and knocked him down.
