A 19-year-old youth died a few hours after a mob beat him up for peeping at girls changing clothes in Savalagi village of Jamkhandi taluk, Bagalkot district, on Friday. Sudeep Pange died in hospital after he was beaten up by the mob when he was caught peeping at girls who were changing dress in a local school. The girls were part of a cultural troupe performing for the government school annual day. He suffered injuries after he was beaten up. Some local residents and police shifted him to the Jamkhandi hospital. Doctors said he died of a heart attack. The family members of the deceased have complained to the police seeking action against Raju Mali, Vijay Savalagi, Mallikarjun Mali and others under the provisions of the Prevention of Atrocities (against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) Act and assault and attempt to murder of BNS.
