Chief Commissioner of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) M. Maheshwar Rao on Saturday directed officials to complete the Yelahanka flyover project on Doddaballapur Main Road by the end of September.

With around 70% of work completed, the 2-km-long flyover comprises 56 pillars, of which 51 have been constructed. Of the 447 segments required for the project, 351 have been erected, while 96 segments remain pending.

Mr. Rao instructed officials and contractors to resolve operational challenges, including night-time work restrictions due to ongoing traffic, and accelerate construction to meet the September deadline.

The GBA chief reviewed the 5-km white-topping project on the Hennur-Bagalur Road. One side of the road has been completed for 4 km, with the remaining 1 km expected to be finished within 15 days. He also called for the development of public amenities on BDA land parcels.

A 5-acre site within Hennur is to be transferred to the North Corporation and transformed into a playground, while a 3-acre BDA land parcel in HBR Layout 1st Stage is earmarked for a street vendor zone and a central park.

Mr. Rao further directed officials to take possession of lands for which the Relinquishment Deeds have been issued, bringing them under the corporation’s control for development purposes, including road-widening. The officials have been instructed to prepare a detailed list of all such lands, identify properties yet to be taken over and ensure acquisition.
