Yadgir Deputy Commissioner Harshal Bhoyar directed the officers to take all precautionary measures to conduct smooth, fair, and transparent examinations for II PU in the district.

He chaired a preliminary meeting at Yadgir on February 20.

The board examinations for II PU will commence on February 28 and conclude on March 17.

A total of 11,760 students are eligible to appear for examinations in 20 centers across the district. Of the 20, five are in Shahapur taluk, followed by four in Shorapur, seven in Yadgir taluk, two in Gurmitkal taluk, and one each in Kembhavi and Hunsagi towns, respectively.

The Deputy Commissioner specifically said that there will be no tolerance with regard to malpractices. The chief superintendent is responsible for conducting fair and proper examinations, he added.

According to the government’s guidelines, the examinations must be conducted under the supervision of CCTV cameras and the maintenance of webcasting procedures.

“Any electronic equipment, including phones, pen drives, earphones, microphones, bluetooth, and electronic hand watches, is strictly prohibited from being carried inside the examination centre, and filming and capturing the examination is also banned for anyone, including staff and students. If such incidents happen, strict action will be taken against the responsible party,” he warned.

Mr. Bhoyar advised the officers of various government departments, including the Home Department, to coordinate with each other to ensure fair examinations. The police department should prevent outsiders from crossing the prohibited areas, which are in the 200-metre radius of the examination centre, and maintain peace till the end of each day’s examinations.

The officers should ensure drinking water and toilet facilities for students, he said, and added that the students shouldn’t get confused or panic upon hearing any rumours about question paper leakage, as all precautions have been taken to curb such incidents.

Lavish Ordia, Yadgir Zilla Panchayat CEO, Prutwik Shankar, Superintendent of Police, officers from the Education Department, and others were present.
