Deputy Commissioner Harshal Bhoyar formed a committee at the district level to oversee the comprehensive implementation of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act that prevents sexual harassment of women in workplaces. Mr. Bhoyar held a meeting in Yadgir recently and formed the district-level committee comprising 13 members to prevent sexual harassment of women in working places in government and private offices where 10 or more than 10 employees are working. The district administration acted after the State government issued directions for the strict implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace(Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013 (SH Act, 2013), and formed the committee under the chairmanship of Vandana Gali, officer of the AYUSH Department. The committee will verify the complaints if lodged by the working women on the harassment and take further action.
