WRD orders release of water from Kodhayar irrigation dams to meet Nagercoil Corporation’s summer needs

The Water Resource Department (WRD) has issued an order to release water from Kodahayar irrigation dams to Puthen dam from March 16 to May 31, for a period of about 77 days to meet the drinking water needs of Nagercoil corporation.

To address the anticipated increase in drinking water requirements during summer months, a meeting was held recently with the participation of Nagercoil Corporation Mayor R. Mahesh, Corporation Commissioner Nishant Krishna, WRD and Nagercoil corporation officials.
