The Water Resources Department (WRD) has recently started work to restore nine waterbodies in the Minjur block, which were damaged during the laying of Chennai Peripheral Ring Road (CPRR).

Residents have called for speedy execution of works as the lakes are key sources of irrigation and drinking water. CPRR (Section-I), which passes through Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, and Chengalpattu districts, is being laid across the nine waterbodies in Minjur block. These tanks include those in Nallur, Vannipakkam, Amoor, Kalpakkam, Neidavoyal, and Voyalur Mamanikal.
