The CPI(M) State secretary V. Srinivasa Rao on Monday alleged that the Women’s Reservation Bill is being used for electoral gains, launching a sharp attack on the Union government led by Narendra Modi. Addressing a press conference, he questioned whether the Centre had revived the issue in view of the upcoming Assembly elections. He said the Bill, enacted in 2023, was now being invoked for political purposes, terming it a betrayal of women.
