Over 50 women who studied in a private nursing college in Ambilikai in Oddanchatram in Dindigul district submitted a petition to the Dindigul Collector on Monday. They said they were unable to get government jobs because the college was not properly registered. The women had completed the Auxiliary Nurse Midwife course at the college, they said. Recently, a notification for counselling for the post of village health nurse was issued. They had applied for it and were expecting a call. However, they did not receive the call for the counselling. Disappointed, they raised a complaint. They were informed that the private college was not properly registered. The women submitted the petition to the Collector and said that they were suffering due to lapses on the part of the college. They sought the intervention of the authorities in the issue.
