Group of Companies, Mangaluru, on January 13. She was speaking while inaugurating Shakthi, a women’s empowerment seminar for young women organised to mark the Amrita Mahotsava of Mangaluru Ramakrishna Mission. Ms. Amin stated that everyone must seize life’s abundant opportunities and urged young women to pursue entrepreneurship after their studies. She emphasised that entrepreneurship involves embracing challenges and further urged them to build self-confidence, dream big, and work relentlessly towards their goals. Mangala Group of Institutions vice chancellor Anita G Bhat said, “Women constitute nearly 50 per cent of our country’s population. Empowerment of the nation is possible only through women’s empowerment. Along with skills, today’s youth must also imbibe higher values.” Associate editor of an English-language monthly journal, Swami Jnaneshanandaji, Mangaluru Mission secretary Swami Jitakamanandaji, Mangala Institutions president Ganapati Bhat and others were present. In the first session that followed the inauguration, Swami Jnaneshanandaji spoke on “Education that Empowers – The Vivekananda Vision for Women.” In the second session, Alva’s Education Foundation executive director Greeshma Vivek Alva presented her thoughts on “Leading with Shakthi: Redefining Women’s Leadership in the 21st Century.” This was followed by a panel discussion on “The Power to Care: Redefining Strength and Service in Today’s Women by Rai’s Species founder and CEO Divya Rai, Anirveda Foundation’s Anupama V. Prabhu and clinical psychologist Shushrusha Priscilla Rodrigues. Puttur Vivekananda College dean of postgraduate studies B. Vijaya Saraswathi moderated the session.
