Hubballi-Dharwad Mayor Jyoti Patil has said that women navigate various professional environments that are often demanding and challenging yet they serve as anchors of families, society and the nation. Speaking at a function to celebrate Women’s Day at Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Engineering and Technology in Dharwad, she said that women hold a vital responsibility of nurturing character and culture among children. She also highlighted the need for essential participation of women in start-ups and entrepreneurial ventures. Additional Advocate-General Vidyavathi M. Kotturshettar emphasised the theme of 2026, “Rights, Justice and Action for all Women and Girls”, and remarked that while women have contributed greatly to society, it is time for them to prioritise their self-growth. She added that every woman is an achiever in her own right. Dean of Academic Programmes at SDM College of Engineering and Technology Vijaya C. and principal Ramesh L. Chakrasali spoke. Chairperson of SDMCET Women’s Forum Neetha G. Kulkarni, Megha Hukkeri and Varsha Joshi and faculty members were present.
