Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC) Commissioner P. Viswanadha on Sunday (March 8) said the civic body gave equal opportunities to women in postings as a measure towards their empowerment. Participating in an event organised on the occasion of International Women’s Day in Kurnool city, the Commissioner said corporation gave the post of Revenue Officer to a woman. “We prioritise women employees and will continue to give them priority in all wings of the Corporation, he said. Thanking the Commissioner for appointing her to the post, Revenue Officer Swarna Latha said it was a memorable Women’s Day for her as she is the first woman to hold the post in the Corporation. Several women employees, staff and sanitation workers were felicitated for their services by the Commissioner on the occasion.
