Sivanthipatti police in Tirunelveli district have arrested a woman for allegedly stabbing to death her alcoholic son. Police said meat shop owner K. Mayandi, 27, of Dhanalakshmi Nagar near Krishnapuram on Palayamkottai – Tiruchendur Road used to consume liquor and pick-up quarrel with his mother Latha, 50, everyday. When Kannan, under the influence of alcohol, verbally abused and assaulted his mother on Monday night, Ms. Latha, in a bid to save herself from the son’s attacks, allegedly stabbed him with a kitchen knife.
