A court here has sentenced a 36-year-old woman to two years’ imprisonment for causing the death of a pedestrian after she rammed him on her two-wheeler in Kilpauk. The deceased, Moorthy, 69, a resident of Purasawalkam, was crossing EVR Road near Green House in Kilpauk on February 25, 2025, when the woman K. Durgadevi, 36, riding a two-wheeler, struck him. Moorthy sustained severe injuries and died on the way to the hospital.
