Woman receives parcel containing human skull, bones at workplace

A 29-year-old woman working at a shop in Parrys’ Corner received a parcel containing a human skull, three bones, and a packet of holy ash on Friday.

The police said an unidentified person arrived at the shop where Shruti, a resident of Vyasarpadi, worked as an accountant, and handed over to the security guard a parcel addressed to her.

When the security guard called up and informed Shruti about the parcel, she said she had not ordered anything, and was not expecting any parcel.

Subsequently, the security guard informed the shop owner, Jitendhar.

When they opened the package in the presence of others at the shop, they were shocked to discover its contents. They then alerted the police control room.

The Esplanade police have launched an investigation to trace the sender.
