Woman injured at Government Hospital

Saranya, 25, of Thenperambur near Thanjavur, sustained injuries after a portion of cement plastering on the roof peeled and fell on her at Government Rajah Mirasdar Hospital here on Tuesday.

Inquiry revealed that the injured woman, who had admitted her one-and-a-half-year-old child for treatment at the hospital last week, was waiting at the Children’s Ward to get her child discharged. Suddenly, a portion of the cement plastering peeled off and fell on her, causing injuries. She was admitted at the intensive care unit of the hospital, sources said.
